We state clearly what to send, who reviews it, how long each step takes, and what happens if we cannot offer a place.

The Admissions Procedure
Clear statutory and operational SLAs at each milestone:
1 2 Working Days
Submit Referral
Referral documentation received and acknowledged in writing.
Outcome: Receipt confirmation & initial review assigned
2 5 Working Days
Screening & Review
Full review of reports, EHCP outcomes, and compatibility check. (15 days for s39 CFA consultations).
Outcome: Formal suitability response or visit offer
3 10 Working Days
Assessment Visit
Informal visit by pupil and family to meet key staff and view spaces. Zero pressure to commit on the day.
Outcome: Mutual setting suitability assessment
4 5 Working Days
Written Decision
Formal placement offer letter setting out individual timetable strands, support level, and start date.
Outcome: Costed placement agreement & transition plan
What to include in a referral
To allow us to make a thorough screening within 5 working days, please include:
- Current Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) if applicable
- Educational Psychologist reports & specialist assessments
- Recent school reports, attendance history & PEP documents
- Risk assessment / behaviour support plan details
